Logistics can be formally defined as the detailed coordination of a complex operation involving many people, multiple facilities, utilization of various supplies, requirements, for necessary equipment, timing variations, and optional modes of transportation.
When we talk about “Logistics”, we mean moving our customers’ high value stuff from where it is to where they want it, along with how and when they want it done.

That one parent with the five kids, from the “What is Logistics” section above? If she has a friend take two of the kids in a second car, that friend, who shares her workload, is a 3PL.
“3PL” stands for ‘Third Party Logistics’ companies. Originally a military term, like logistics, it was adopted by the corporate sector to describe a company that assists or takes over shipping, transportation, or distribution services. By outsourcing some of the work, the parent company (as it were) can reduce costs and overhead internally, and reallocate resources to better serve its clients.

The easy explanation is that a 4PL adds one more outsourced element to the 3PL description above: the management of vendors in a corporation’s supply chain, including selection, performance reviews, budgeting and pricing, and so on. A 4PL is more accurately a separate form of neutral oversight, like a consultant, that watch-dogs the vendors, contractors, or suppliers in the chain. By managing other parties, the 3PL becomes a 4PL, a “Fourth Party Logistics” company.
If that friend who takes two kids in the 3PL example hires and manages a Nanny, a cook, and a butler … and not only splits up the transportation duty of the 5 kids, but also takes care of the meals, the laundry, the homework, and the cleaning for the household … that friend is a 4PL.

White glove services can be customized to include set and place within a room on any floor, installation, light assembly, uncrating, and removal of debris. While our service rarely includes actual dusting, which is where the original term “white glove service” came from, we’re happy to accommodate!

Of course! A tighter schedule may increase costs, but if it is physically and legally possible to transport your shipment in the timeframe you are requesting, Corovan Anywhere will find a way. This could include team drivers and exclusive use of a tractor-trailer or even air-shipping.
